Pastor

James A. Johnson

Pastor James A. Johnson is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior at an early age. Pastor Johnson received his Certificate of License to preach in 2003 and was ordained by St. Paul Baptist Church, Baltimore, MD in 2010 under the leadership of the Late Pastor Rev. Dr. Cleveland Alexander.

 Pastor Johnson served eight years with the Armed Forces, in the United States and Europe. He studied Criminal Justice at Austin Peay State, located in Clarksville Tennessee.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, from the United Baptist College and Seminary. Currently, he is enrolled in the Master’s Degree program at St. Mary’s Ecumenical Institute Seminary and University.

He is married to First Lady Reverend Evangelist Wanda Johnson, and the father of two daughters.

​

  He enjoys gardening, and finds his passion in preaching and studying the Word of God. He also loves encouraging people, and helping anyone who is in need.  

​

As of October 20, 2013, Reverend James A. Johnson served as the Interim Pastor for Freedom Baptist Missionary Church. Effective November 2014, Reverend Johnson became the 1st Pastor Elect of Freedom Baptist Missionary Church. On December 21, 2014 he was installed as the 1st Elected Pastor of this great branch of Zion. Freedom Baptist Missionary Church believes in Celebrating Jesus one life at a time!

First Lady Reverend Evangelist

Wanda L. Johnson

First Lady Reverend Evangelist Wanda Johnson is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and was raised in church at St. Paul Freewill. She has also served in membership at St. Paul Baptist Church of Baltimore City, under the leadership of the late Dr. Cleveland C. Alexander. 

 

Wanda now serves as the Assistant to the Pastor at Freedom Baptist, the Assistant Youth Choir Director, the Director of the Women of Freedom Ministries, and the facilitators for the Biblical Study Group, “The Jesus Connection, Where Women Learn to Speak Wisdom and Teach Kindness., She is also a biblical facilitator and monthly preacher for “Freedom At Britton Wood Worship Services at Brinton Woods Post-Acute Care Center.

 

In May, 2011, Wanda announced her calling into the ministry as an Evangelist for the Lord Jesus Christ, and was licensed to preach the Gospel in April, 2013. Under the auspices of the Holy Spirit, In August, 2017 Wanda received her Certificate of Ordination after satisfactory examination by the appointed Ordination Council, and her Pastor/Husband at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church.

 

Lady Reverend Evangelist Johnson is currently in pursuit of her Master’s Degree St. Mary’s Ecumenical Institute Seminary and University. She has two daughters. 

 

Lady Reverend Evangelist Johnson believes what the Bible says in Romans 8:38-39 "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
